Next Gen Men: Beyond Male Allies

Next Gen Men is a Canadian nonprofit dedicated to changing how the world sees, acts and thinks about masculinity. Beyond Male Allies is a 5-module online course aimed at guiding men towards a greater understanding of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the workplace and how its benefits for themselves and others.
This course features video, interactive elements, knowledge checks, and spaces for the user to reflect on their learning.
My role in this project:
- Interpreted existing brand identity into simple and purpose-specific look and feel
- Storyboarded and created a dynamic e-learning experience in Articulate Rise using a provided script
- Created static assets in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Created interactive blocks using Articulate Storyline
Trans Care BC: Gender Affirming Relational Practice
2024
Gender Affirming Relational Practice (GARP) is four-module course outlining ways care providers can combine clinical practice, relational practice, and gender-affirming care principles to improve access and suitability of care for trans, Two-Spirit, and non-binary (TTNB) clients. This program provided tools for building a TTNB inclusive relational practice within various areas of medicine and paramedicine, to be provided to clinicians by the BC Health Authority.
GARP integrates interviews from a diverse cohort of TTNB practitioners and clients to support inclusivity in learning.
My role in this project:
- Working with TCBC and Hot Neon team members to write course content with the appropriate tone for a clinical audience
- Selecting segments of video interviews with SMEs and community members for inclusion in the course to ensure the best possible value to the learner.
- Co-created illustrations with a diverse team, ensuring imagery was visually cohesive and appropriately reflected the demographics of TCBC’s clientele.
- Assembled the course in Rise, bringing together all elements into a polished final product
We Are Allies: Addressing Online Health Misinformation
2024
We Are Allies is a campaign developed in partnership with UBC, the BC Provincial Health Services Authority, and Trans Care BC targeting the proliferation of health misinformation messages online, especially those relating to healthcare access for gender diverse patients.
We created a public facing interactive learning tool for inclusion in the campaign. This is a simple, short, and visually thoughtful microlearning designed to reach a broad audience.
My role in this project:
- Worked alongside SMEs to develop impactful but sensitive written content for a public audience
- Created visual assets in line with existing brand identity
- Built out course in Articulate Rise
- Built interactive blocks in Storyline
- Designed downloadable PDF materials detailing ways to fact check online sources
